Margaret Smith, age 75, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at her residence in St. Charles. She was born April 23, 1934 in Rockingham, North Carolina, the daughter of Willie and Claudia (nee Ballard) McGee. She was united in marriage to Clarence “Jack” Smith on May 11, 1957 at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Jack; her two sons, Michael (Christine Heetland) Smith of Algonquin, IL, and Steven Smith of St. Charles; her grandchildren, Ryan Michael, Tyler Steven, Samantha Leigh, and Madeline Daniel Smith, Derek Steven, Justin William and Alexa Christine Smith; her two brothers, Billy Ray McGee of Wheaton, IL and Harold “Tee.” (Judith Ann) McGee of Rockingham, NC; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Richard Smith; and her sister, Elizabeth Ann Kunzelman.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 12, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles.
Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at St. John Neumann Catholic Church in St. Charles, where she will lie in state from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of Mass. Rev. Andrew Skrobutt celebrant. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery in Geneva.
