Oliver Reuter, age 85, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 22, 2010 at Provena Mercy Center in Aurora. He was born June 15, 1924 in Elgin, IL the son of Henry and Anna Reuter.
Oliver was a proud veteran of WWII, serving as a tank crewman in the European Theatre with the United States Army. He was a lifetime member of the Elgin VFW Post 1307. Oliver was a house painter and a proud member of District Council 30.
He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie (Ken) Yates of Aurora and Kathy (Jerry) Chapski of St. Charles; four grandchildren, Amanda Castro, Matthew, Michelle, and Teresa Chapski; a brother, Darwin (Maryanna) Reuter of Fort Collins, CO; a nephew, Mark (Barbara) Reuter and their children, Madison and Allysa; his niece, Stephanie Darling, and her children, Jason and Timmy Carlson, and Ashley Andrews, and her child, Diego Romero.
In addition to his parents, Oliver is preceded in death by his wife Beulah; a brother, Orville; a sister, Elsie; and a niece, Nancy Getzelman.
Visitation will be held Friday, February 2010 from 10:00 A.M. until 12:00 noon at the Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street (three blocks west of the river and one block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles, where a service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Dr. Robert Kasper will officiate. Interment will be in Union Cemetery in St. Charles.
