Rau, age 83, of Batavia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was born September 6, 1926. He was united in marriage to Gwendolyn Ann Henningson on February 24, 1951. He is survived by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Ann Rau; son, David Rau of Aurora; a brother-in-law, Jerry (Rosanne) Henningson; his nieces and nephews, Janice (Jim) Magnuson, Robert (Wendy) Modine, Carol (Steve) Herra, Mike (Colleen) Henningson, Laura Henningson, Ed (Michelle) Rau, and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Ralph is preceded in death by his loving daughter, Cathy (nee Rau) Newman; his brother, Fred Rau, a brother-in-law, Gunnar Henningson; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Modine. Visitation will be Friday February 19, 2010 from 9:00 A.M. until 10:00 A.M. at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. in St. Charles, where a funeral service will follow at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.
