Obituary:
E. Gertrude Kling, age 89, of St. Charles, formerly of Wayne, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. She was born February 4, 1921 in Woodhaven, New York, the daughter of Henry and Elsie (nee Schultz) Ring. She was united in marriage to Robert E. Kling Sr. on September 15, 1945.

Gertrude, along with her late husband Robert, were long time members of the St. Charles Country Club. She enjoyed gardening, playing bridge, and especially traveling. She was the first resident of Carriage Oaks in St. Charles and greatly enjoyed visiting with her many friends there. She was a long time member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in St. Charles.

She is survived by her children, Robert E. Kling Jr. of Huntley, Steven (Judy) Kling of Bloomingdale and Christine Bonkoski of Geneva; and her grandchildren, Nicole (Scott) Foss, David and Adam Kling.

In addition to her parents, Gertrude is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert; two brothers, Henry and Donald Ring; and a son-in-law Richard Bonkoski.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 15, 2010 from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third St. (three blocks east of the river and one block south of Rt. 64) in St. Charles.

Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 1145 N. 5th Ave. in St. Charles. Rev. Mark Larson will officiate. Interment will follow in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Red Cross, Delnor-Community Hospital, or Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
