Obituary:
Robert A. Damiani, 68, of Key Largo FL, formerly of St. Charles IL, died January 9, 2010, at Loyola Medical Center, Maywood IL, of complications after a long illness.

Robert Damiani was born November 13th, 1941 in Newton MA to Dr. C. Robert Damiani and Mrs. Jessie (nee Malizia) Damiani. Robert lived from 2 months of age to 4 years old with his mother and maternal grandparents in Allston MA while his father served in World War II in the U.S. Army as a medical doctor.

Upon his father’s return from the war, the family moved to Worcester MA. Robert attended Worcester Academy Prep School, excelling in football, wrestling, and baseball. After prep school, Robert attended Tufts University and graduated in 1964 with a B.S. in Biology. In 1966, Robert completed his M.S. in Zoology at the University of New Hampshire. After graduation, Robert taught high school in New Hampshire, then in 1968 moved to the Chicago area and worked in technical sales for Monsanto’s functional fluids group.

Robert founded Radco Industries, Inc. in 1971 as a specialty chemical reprocessing company. Located today in LaFox IL, Radco is a leading producer of heat transfer fluids and specialty military fluids. He retired from active management of the company in 2003 and moved to Key Largo FL, where he enjoyed boating, fishing, and scuba diving.

Robert is survived by his wife, Jennifer DeAntoni-Damiani of Key Largo FL, his son Michael R. Damiani (Lisa) of St. Charles IL, a daughter, Dana L. Damiani of Tampa FL, two step sons, John A. Sheldon of Los Gatos CA, Blake T. Sheldon of Raleigh NC, a step daughter, Robyn E. Sheldon of Raleigh NC, two grandchildren, Michael J. Damiani, 5, and Makayla M. Damiani, 4, both of St. Charles IL, two sisters, Darlene L. Lanava of Worcester MA, Lora R. Damiani-Tinney (Clay) of Key Largo FL, two nieces, one nephew and two great nephews.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 12, 2010, from 4 pm to 8 pm at Norris Funeral Home, 100 S. Third Street, St. Charles IL. Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, January 13, 2010, 10:30 am at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1891 Kaneville Road Geneva, IL.
